Ola enters the quick commerce race, targets 15 minutes delivery

Ola Store in Bangalore

Bangalore based Indian multinational Ola, has recently launched its quick delivery service for consumables in Bangalore targeting a 15 minutes span of delivery, according to sources.

The planned ‘Ola Store’ is set to service a few localities in Bangalore and will be rolled out within the Ola Ride App for selected customers. Though Ola declined to comment on being contacted, sources say they plan to launch full fledged services soon in metro cities.

Customers will be able to order grocery and home care products, and pet supplies from nearly 2000 options and orders will be fulfilled via ‘dark stores’ established across the city.

Quick commerce is a product of evolving consumer behavior and consumption patterns from single, large monthly purchases to small, frequent weekly/bi-monthly purchases. This has pushed players like BigBasket, Swiggy, Grofers and Zomato to foray into this sector and cater to instant/quick delivery demands of the Indian consumers, specially in Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities.
