Budget airline SpiceJet and leading air freight forwarder Skyways Air Services Pvt Ltd, have signed an MoU in a joint initiative towards transporting the COVID-19 vaccine across India.
While Spicejet will provide connectivity across its pan-India network with full temperature mapping controls, Skyways air services Pvt ltd will provide cold chain transportation and storage along with dedicated last mile connectivity .
In addition, Skyways Air Services Pvt Ltd. will provide custom brokering services, wherever required in India, Germany and USA.

Skyways Air Services Pvt Ltd, India’s largest air freight forwarder has set up a control tower to manage and monitor end to end movement of the vaccine. They have also created enough air cargo capacity to handle large volumes of vaccine as it is ready for exports from India.
Various process innovations have also been done in the company to suit the new standards of work during the COVID period.
SpiceXpress–the cargo arm of SpiceJet has been taking active steps towards realising its vision of providing a solution for vaccine delivery, while also building a sustainable cold chain network.
The dedicated freighters, operated under the SpiceXpress cargo division, are capable of transporting sensitive drugs and vaccines in controlled temperatures, both domestically as well as internationally.
SpiceJet has operated 11,800 cargo flights since the lockdown began and carried around 93,500 tonnes of cargo.
