Airport Authority of India’s Cargo and Logistic Allied Services (AAICLAS), the cargo business handling wing of AAI has rolled out domestic air cargo operations from the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, Indore.
The service was launched with air cargo service with two cargo flights and rolling out commercial flights to five destinations. Member of Parliament Shankar Lalwani and Airport Director Aryama Sanyal inaugurated the new service on Tuesday.
AAICLAS has taken over Domestic Air Cargo Operation from M/s GSEC Ltd. that used to manage domestic cargo on behalf of AAICLAS.
MP Lalwani said that the domestic cargo is gaining momentum from the city airport and now 15-18 tons of goods are being sent daily. Around 30-35 tons of goods were sent daily from Indore prior to lockdown, which reduced during the lockdown, but now it is gaining momentum again.
With this, Indore Airport Cargo also launched Integrated Cargo Management System, an online system which integrates AAICLAS, customs with the end user. With this, the end customer will be able to do his billing from his location only for any shipment, said airport director Aryama Sanyal.
