Agra to Get Rs 570 Crore State-of-the-Art Logistics Hub

The Agra Development Authority (ADA) is set to establish a state-of-the-art logistics hub in Mudhera village, southeast of Gwalior Road in Agra. Estimated at Rs 570 crore, this initiative aims to revolutionize the region’s logistics and transportation capabilities.

“The board has passed the proposal for the hub in Mudhera. Seed capital is needed for the purchase of land, and then the proposal will be sent to the government for approval,” stated Shraddha Shandilya, Secretary of ADA. She added that once approvals are secured, the land acquisition process will commence, paving the way for this transformative project.

During its 143rd board meeting, the ADA approved the project’s detailed financial outline, including Rs 4,000 per square meter for land acquisition and Rs 2,500 per square meter for development. The projected sale price of the land is around Rs 13,000 per square meter, competitive against the current market value of Rs 25,000 to 30,000 per square meter in the region.

Covering 88 hectares, the logistics hub will be strategically located just one kilometer from the proposed new townships in Kakua and Bhandai. The project demands a significant financial commitment: Rs 350 crore for land acquisition and Rs 220 crore for development works. This substantial investment is expected to alleviate city road congestion by reducing the number of goods trucks passing through them.

To facilitate the hub’s construction, ADA will purchase land from local farmers based on mutual consent, offering a compensation package four times the current circle rate of Rs 70 lakh per hectare, totaling Rs 350 crore for land acquisition.

One of the key advantages of the logistics hub is its strategic location and excellent connectivity. Situated just one kilometer from Bhandai railway station, the hub will be easily accessible via the inner ring road service road. This prime location ensures quick access to major routes, including the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, and the Jaipur Highway, and facilitates a swift 10-minute drive to Fatehabad Road, enhancing the hub’s logistical efficiency and connectivity to major cities like Mathura, Delhi, Jaipur, and Lucknow.

According to the Agra Master Plan 2031, the Mudhera area has been designated as an industrial zone, making it an ideal site for the logistics hub. This classification underscores the city’s commitment to industrial development and infrastructure enhancement.

By developing this logistics hub, the ADA aims to catalyze economic growth and industrial activity in the region. The proposal highlights ADA’s vision of transforming Agra into a logistical powerhouse, supporting extensive industrial activities. Upon completion, the project is expected to bring significant economic benefits to Agra, including job creation and improved transportation infrastructure.
