LG Electronics, the multinational conglomerate company, has partnered with Seoul’s major parcel delivery firm CJ Logistics to launch its robot technology and enter the automated logistics segment. It will be signing a MoU with CJ to co-develop integrated robotic solutions for parcel picking and sorting. LG will supply its ‘AGV transformed into Autonomous Mobile Robot’ CLOi CarryBot and other robotic solutions to CJ, to be used in a major distribution hub in Gonjiam, south of Seoul, as early as next month.

According to LG, CLOi CarryBot is their next generation robot equipped with artificial intelligence. LG has already dispatched its robotic solutions in hotels, hospitals and restaurants.
CJ Logistics has the largest number of distribution centres in South Korea and with this partnership, LG wants to work with them to develop optimal solutions, leveraging CJ’s vast network system, abundant data and their expertise in the logistics sector.
In March 2022, LG announced their collaboration with roboticist Dennis Hong – the founding director of Robotics and Mechanisms Lab at UCLA – to develop advanced and integrated robotic solutions for the logistics sector. The goal of the collaboration was to create robotic solutions that can manage every step of the order delivery process from first to the last mile.
