IATA’s annual World Cargo Symposium (WCS) event is going to move from Hong Kong to London, a decision taken by IATA owing to the strict travel restrictions implemented by Hong Kong in response to the COVID outbreak.
The three-day-long conference and exhibition will now take place between September 27-and 29 at the ExCel exhibition center.
“The Symposium will feature plenary sessions, specialized streams, workshops, and executive summits, tackling aspects related to Technology & Innovation, Security & Customs, Cargo Operations, and Sustainability, where you can partake in lively discussions and benefit from the opportunity to network with over 1,300 key industry players at the WCS Welcome Reception and Gala dinner,” IATA said.
Moving the WCS seems to be a reoccurring step taken by IATA. Last year with mere weeks to go, the decision was taken to move the event from Istanbul to Dublin as a result of covid-related travel restrictions in Turkey.
