Hapag-Lloyd Rebrands its Terminal and Infrastructure Division as Hanseatic Global Terminals

Hapag-Lloyd’s Terminal and Infrastructure division has officially rebranded as Hanseatic Global Terminals effective from 1st July 2024. The company has been operating as a stand-alone business unit since its inception in June 2023 and this rebranding marks a significant milestone for the company. The new brand name draws inspiration from the “Hanseatic League,” a historic alliance of seafaring merchants in Northern Europe renowned for their trade and navigation prowess.

The rebranding underscores the company’s commitment to delivering quality and expansive terminal operations, akin to the principles upheld by the Hanseatic League.

Hanseatic Global Terminals is poised to manage and consolidate terminal and infrastructure investments across 20 terminals in 11 countries, signifying a robust global footprint. Key locations under its management include Container Terminal Altenwerder in Hamburg, JadeWeserPort in Wilhelmshaven, Terminal TC3 in Tangier, and Terminal 2 in Damietta, which is currently under construction. These strategic hubs are expected to bolster the company’s operational capabilities and service offerings significantly.

Moreover, the company’s reach extends to the Americas and India through notable acquisitions and investments. Hanseatic Global Terminals oversees terminals in the Americas, acquired through the purchase of Chile-based SAAM Terminals’ business. In India, it has invested in J M Baxi Ports & Logistics Limited. Additionally, the company holds a minority stake in the Spinelli Group, further diversifying its portfolio and strengthening its position in the global market.

This strategic rebranding is anticipated to enhance Hanseatic Global Terminals’ operational efficiency and customer service, aligning with its goals of sustainability and quality.
