Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, chaired a high-level review meeting of the National Highways Logistics Management Limited in New Delhi on Tuesday to assess the progress of key infrastructure projects across the country.
The review focused on the development of Multi Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs), ropeways, intermodal stations, and wayside amenities, all aimed at strengthening India’s transport and logistics ecosystem.
During the meeting, Gadkari highlighted the strategic role of these initiatives in creating a future-ready, integrated transport network. He noted that such projects would enhance multimodal connectivity, unlock economic opportunities, support balanced regional growth, and boost the country’s logistics competitiveness.
The minister also reviewed challenges impacting project execution and directed stakeholders to address bottlenecks on priority and accelerate implementation. He stressed that timely completion of these projects would improve logistics efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and deliver world-class infrastructure and commuter amenities, aligning with the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.
