Essar Ports Vizag Terminal Ltd (EVTL), the largest iron ore handling complex in India today said that it has handled the largest dry bulk vessel, and recorded the largest parcel in Vizag Port.
EVTL On 20th April 2022, successfully berthed the M.V. Star Eleni, a bulk carrier built in 2018, sailing under the flag of Liberia.
Loaded with DWT- 2,07,555 MT, LOA- 299.88 Meters, and BEAM- 50 Meters, this marked the largest bulk carrier ever handled by EVT.
In another achievement, the terminal successfully loaded a record 1,65,000 Metric Tons (MT) of iron ore fines on the M.V. Star Eleni vessel.

Essar Ports Vizag terminal’s fully mechanized eco-friendly infrastructure helps the terminal achieve benchmark performance, while also enabling lower logistics costs for customers. strategically located in the Bay of Bengal, the terminal is near iron-ore mines located in Chhattisgarh, southern Odisha, and Jharkhand.
The all-weather deep draft facility has the wherewithal to serve the rapidly growing markets of Southeast Asia including China, Japan, and Korea, in addition to the coastal movement for the steel industry within India.
