DTDC Express has commissioned a new logistics hub in Rathiwas, Haryana, as part of its ongoing expansion of network infrastructure aimed at strengthening freight movement across North India. The company said the new facility is expected to improve processing capacity, reduce transit bottlenecks and support growing shipment volumes in the region.
Spread across 1.5 lakh sq. ft., the facility has a peak processing capacity of 2,500 tonnes per day and is designed to serve key markets including Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. The hub will function as a major transit point within DTDC’s network, supporting mid-mile operations and improving connectivity across northern freight corridors.
According to the company, the facility is equipped with automated sorter systems, multiple conveyor lines and hydraulic dock infrastructure to increase freight handling efficiency and improve turnaround times. More than 150 personnel have been deployed at the site to manage operations.
DTDC said the additional capacity is expected to strengthen network resilience during periods of high demand while improving route efficiency and downstream shipment movement. The investment also aligns with the company’s long-term strategy of expanding logistics infrastructure to meet rising demand from businesses across metropolitan as well as Tier II and Tier III markets.
Commenting on the development, Abhishek Chakraborty, Chief Executive Officer of DTDC, said the company views logistics infrastructure as a critical enabler of India’s next phase of commerce growth. He added that expanding scalable logistics capacity would help businesses improve delivery speed and operational reliability as demand continues to grow.
The Rathiwas facility forms part of DTDC’s Vision 2030 programme, under which the company is investing in infrastructure, automation and operational improvements across its network. The company currently operates more than 500 facilities, has over 16,500 customer access points, and says its network reaches approximately 96% of India’s population.
