Fast Despatch Logistics (FDL), a UK-based last-mile delivery service provider having a presence in countries such as Bulgaria, France, Germany, and Romania alongside the UK, has recently announced its plans to enter the Indian logistics market soon. As per the company, it will launch its services in India on May 14 and commence its operations with 850 vehicles initially, among which 680 will be electric vehicles.
As per their plans, the service provider will initially launch its service in cities such as Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, and Hyderabad, and will later expand across India and meet the company’s aim to increase the fleet of vehicles to 150,000.
The launch of Fast Despatch Logistics will generate employment opportunities in the nation as the service provider plans to employ only local people from the cities, where it will be operating its services in India. Gurvinder Birk, Director, and owner of Fast Despatch Logistics informed that the guidance and training to the workforce in India will be provided by the company’s UK team.
Currently, the company is in talks with a number of undisclosed automakers in India for the procurement of vehicles for their fleet of delivery vehicles.
Gurvinder, while speaking about the electric vehicles and their charging facilities, informed that the company is in talks with its suppliers to arrange for sufficient charging infrastructure. Further, he informed that the company also plans to invest and install its own electric vehicle charging infrastructure in near future.
