Yellowings Delivery Services Partners with Jubilant FoodWorks to Launch India’s First 100% Electric Reefer Pickup Truck

In a significant push toward green logistics, Yellowings Delivery Services, a promising startup in the electric mobility space, has joined hands with Jubilant FoodWorks to unveil India’s first fully electric reefer pickup truck. This collaboration represents a strong commitment to sustainability in cold chain logistics, aiming to reduce carbon emissions and promote a more inclusive workforce.

Vinayak Gupta, Co-Founder of Yellowings Delivery Services, emphasized the importance of this innovation during an exclusive discussion with Logistics Insider. The new reefer electric vehicle, which has a payload capacity of 1 ton, is designed for temperature-sensitive deliveries, with the ability to maintain temperatures as low as 0°C, making it ideal for transporting perishable goods for brands like Dunkin’ and Domino’s.

“This vehicle is India’s first 100% electric reefer pickup truck, fully powered by electricity, with a 1-ton payload capacity. The AC unit is also powered by the vehicle’s battery, making it a 100% green cold chain solution. This initiative and innovation embarks our journey on decarbonizing the cold chain industry in India within optimised cost,” said Gupta.

The truck boasts an impressive range, offering up to 120 km when fully loaded and up to 160 km under ambient conditions. Such a design is particularly advantageous for short-haul deliveries, a critical need in cold chain logistics.

In addition to its environmental benefits, this initiative also marks a milestone in promoting gender diversity within the logistics industry. Yellowings Delivery Services has deployed female drivers to operate these vehicles, signalling a forward-thinking approach to creating an inclusive workforce.

“Gender diversity is a major theme in this initiative,” Gupta shared. “By employing women drivers, we are supporting gender inclusivity and empowerment in a traditionally male-dominated field.”

As a startup focused on electric mobility, Yellowings Delivery Services operates a wide variety of commercial electric vehicles, ranging from 1-ton to 40-ton capacities, catering to both B2B and B2C customers. The company has a pan-India presence, currently active in more than 18 cities across all four regions—north, east, west, and south.

Gupta noted, “We provide comprehensive solutions that span across electric infrastructure and vehicle deployment for middle and last-mile deliveries. Our fleet includes ambient, chilled, and dry vehicles, all in electric formats, offering innovative and sustainable logistics solutions to our clients.”

The partnership between Yellowings Delivery Services and Jubilant FoodWorks underscores a shared vision for a greener, more sustainable future in logistics. By investing in electric mobility and promoting gender diversity, the two companies are setting a new benchmark in the cold chain and logistics sectors.

This initiative reflects the growing emphasis on sustainability within the logistics industry, addressing the increasing demand for eco-friendly transportation solutions while paving the way for more equitable workforce opportunities.

With its ambitious plans and strong commitment to innovation, Yellowings Delivery Services is poised to play a leading role in shaping the future of green logistics in India.
