Steven Polmans to take over as TIACA’s Chairman

Sebastiaan Scholte’s departure from Jan de Rijk Logistics triggered the movement

Steven Polmans, Director Cargo and Logistics, Brussels Airport will be the next Chairman of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) and he will take the charge on July 1. Polmans, who is presently serving as the Vice Chairman of the coveted association, will succeed Sebastiaan Schollte in the office.

The newly nominated Chairman of TIACA, Polmans said to media, “We very much regret that Sebastiaan is leaving, but of course respect his decision, together we came up with a clear strategy and four-year action plan for the Association and I am proud to be able to take over a healthier and stronger TIACA.”

The outgoing chairman of TIACA, Scholte said, “It was a great honour to have served as a chairman of the TIACA board. The organisation is financially healthy again and is strategically on the right track. Moreover, we have a great team of Board members and management.”

Sebastiaan’s departure from the post of CEO of Jan de Rijk Logistics triggered his stepping down from TIACA as the bylaws of the association states Board members must be trustee members of the association. He served in Jan De Rijk Logistics for more than 9 years in the company and played an instrumental role in the success of the company.
