Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways’ (MoPSW) real time performance monitoring dashboard – Sagar Manthan – was launched virtually by the Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal on 23rd March. Sagar Manthan is a digital platform that contains all the integrated data related to the Ministry and other subsidiaries. It was inaugurated in the presence of Shripad Y. Naik (MoS, MoPSW), Shantanu Thakur (MoS, MoPSW) and other officials from the Ministry.
Sonowal, at the launch, said that Sagar Manthan dashboard is a positive development towards Digital India vision of PM Narendra Modi and will have a significant impact on the overall performance of the ministry and its departments.
This dashboard will improve well-coordinated real time information, thereby transforming the operations of various departments, and has been developed completely in-house under the guidance of Sudhanshu Pant (IAS), Secretary, MoPSW in the span of less than 1.5 months efficiently.
Sagar Manthan features the following and will aid in project monitoring, which can ensure the timely completion of projects, informed decision-making, increased efficiency & effectiveness. It also promotes real-time project tracking, risk management, resource allocation, and progress reporting.

In future, this dashboard would further be integrated with input from CCTV camera, live streaming from drone, AI based algorithm to map actual progress, digital twin feature on board and a mobile app for easy access and usability by all stakeholders for better efficiency.
The launch was attended by various stakeholders of the industry virtually.
