Saudia Cargo receives EU GDP certificate from SGS

Saudia Cargo has recently been awarded the certificate of European Union Good Distribution Practice (EU GDP) in the sector of pharmaceuticals by the global certification leader SGS. This recognition will serve as a testimony for Saudia Cargo’s commitment towards high-quality storing and transporting services of pharmaceuticals and medical cargo.

Abdulrahman Al-Mubarak, Chief Commercial Officer, Saudia Cargo, speaking about the achievement, said, “This certificate recognises that Saudia Cargo maintains and complies with the quality management standards throughout the supply chain and applies efficient procedures and policies for receiving and handling pharmaceuticals and medical products without any risks.”

Saudi Cargo has enhanced the quality of medical products warehouses and equipped its main stations with state-of-the-art equipment and devices to control temperature, which is the most important factor in the logistics services related to medical products and pharmaceuticals. The company has also qualified its cadre to efficiently handle pharmaceutical loads.

Earlier, the company had announced the launch of its cold storage facilities for storing pharmaceuticals and medicines at numerous main stations. These facilities obey the international standards of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the European Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use along with the local standards of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority.

Saudia Cargo had also recently announced the launching of its newest service for dry ice replenishment for temperature-controlled products such as perishable and pharmaceuticals which require specific temperature requirements while being transported and stored.
