Sanjay Swarup officially assumed the position of Chairman and Managing Director at Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) on Sunday. The announcement of his appointment comes after the recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on September 26, 2023, where CONCOR, a Navratna CPSE, unveiled remarkable achievements and financial successes.
Back in June, Logistics Insider reported that the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) panel had recommended Sanjay Swarup as the next CMD of CONCOR.
Mr. Swarup, a distinguished member of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) Class of 1990, boasts a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIT Roorkee. Additionally, he holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Policy and Management from IIM Bangalore. With a career spanning more than three decades, he has held leadership positions in various Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and government organizations.
His extensive training at esteemed institutions such as the Maxwell School of Syracuse University in the USA and Antwerp Port in Belgium, combined with his active involvement in leading national and international conferences, reflects his unwavering dedication to advancing the fields of logistics and supply chain management.
“I feel humbled and honoured to assume this charge at a critical time when India is undergoing rapid transformation, including momentous developments in the logistics sector,” Mr Swarup said.
