The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has provided operating space for Customs Brokers (CB) at the Centralized Parking Plaza (CPP) to enhance the speed of export cargo clearance. The Centralized Parking Plaza is by far, one of the strategic locations which handles factory sealed containers in a seamless manner for the trade activities. The move is expected to also reduce transaction cost at the port.

While addressing the audience during the inauguration ceremony, Shri Sanjay Sethi (IAS), Chairman JNPA conveyed that it was a landmark achievement in trade facilitation measures and the ultimate aim is to reduce the dwell time for clearance of export cargo as well as the transaction cost. Deputy Chairman JNPA, Mr. Unmesh Wagh expressed his gratitude to the Customs Brokers community for remarkable contribution towards trade activities and welcomed to extensively use the world class facilities being provided at CPP.
Shri Dushyant Mulani, President of Brihanmumbai Customs Brokers Association (BCBA) stated that this was a positive step to improvise and speed up the clearance processes. He said that custom brokers being able to operate 24×7 in a conducive environment at the CPP will lend a boost to the recently launched NLP. This will surely help the trade to achieve outstanding results with competitiveness.
