Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor Project in New Delhi on Sunday. While addressing the people attending the event, the Prime Minister talked about the progress of the Gati Shakti National Master Plan as well.

The PMO release mentioned that the ITC is aimed to provide hassle-free smooth access to the new world-class exhibition and convention center being developed at Pragati Maidan. It will ensure better vehicular movement, helping save time and cost for the commuters in a big way. It is a part of the overarching vision of the government to create ease of living for people through transforming urban infrastructure.
The main tunnel connects Ring Road with India Gate via Purana Quila road, passing through Pragati Maidan. Along with facilitating smoother movement of traffic, it also has the huge underground parking for Pragati Maidan and two cross tunnels below the main tunnel road to ease traffic movement from either side of the parking lot.
He added that the development projects have numerous hurdles in the path of execution and unfortunately, many good initiatives get strangled in the complex lines of politics. His said that the Gati Shakti NMP was created to ensure that no project gets delayed and departments work in harmony, with complete knowledge of the developments.
He also said that the NMP has accelerated the development of world class multimodal connectivity in India, reducing the time taken for actual execution and completion of the development projects considerably. He said that the project oriented approach of the NMP is a major contributor to this change. The vision of Gati Shakti NMP was cited, by the Prime Minister, so as to ensure connectivity and seamless information flow of information between 16 ministries and their various departments involved in various infra development projects.
