Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday inaugurated Odisha’s first Integrated Consumer Goods Manufacturing and Logistics (ICML) facility at Khurda. Built by ITC, this state-of-the-art facility is spread across 35 acres of land and is strategically planned to accommodate a total of seven production lines, dedicated to producing ITC’s world-class food brands in phases.
On the occasion, CM Naveen urged ITC chairman Sanjeev Puri to expand the company’s footprint in the state.
The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of Jatni MLA Suresh Kumar Routray, Khordha MLA Jyotirindra Nath Mitra and Sanjeev Puri, chairman and managing director, ITC, among others.
ITC at its’ Khurda facility will employ more than 55% women and continue to extend its support to local entrepreneurship through multiple co-manufacturing units for its FMCG products.
This facility by ITC marks a significant milestone for the state, as the government of Odisha has recently come up with the industrial policy resolution (IPR) 2022 which aims to transform Odisha into a modern and advanced industrial state by offering the investors outstanding opportunities for sustainable business growth and to foster holistic socio-economic development.
The setting up of this integrated facility through the government’s active support reinforces the state’s commitment to fostering industrial growth and creating employment opportunities by providing world-class investment facilitation to investors across sectors.
