Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways and MSME, in a day-long review meeting at the National Highways Authority of India headquarters on Thursday, directed NHAI officials to fast-track highways construction through faster decision making.
Gadkari, while emphasising on PM Narendra Modi’s vision for faster growth of infrastructure development said, “There is an urgent need to develop a positive, transparent and corruption-free working system with time-bound decision making.”
The Minister talked about cutting down construction cost through new means and technology and assures that there is enough availability of funds for the construction of national highways through various sources including long term funding from banks.
He directed regional officers to be proactive in coordinating with district officials to fast track land acquisition and other such issues and urged them to speed up the implementation of projects through faster decision making and stricter monitoring.
