New Rail Freight Service by DP World Enhances Export Connectivity

DP World India has launched a dedicated rail freight service connecting the Sachana-Ahmedabad Inland Container Depot (ICD) to the port of Mundra. This new service operates twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays, aiming to enhance support for exports and imports in Ahmedabad and surrounding areas through a specialized train service offering a guaranteed transit time of 24 hours.

This initiative is projected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 65%. Additionally, cargo owners using DP World’s rail service will receive a sustainability certificate recognizing their commitment to reducing their carbon footprint.

Adhendru Jain, Vice President of Rail and Inland Terminals for Subcontinent at DP World, stated, “Our new rail freight service linking Sachana-Ahmedabad to Mundra port provides customers with reliable port connectivity and contributes to a more predictable supply chain. This service is part of our ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive logistics solutions that facilitate the expansion of business communities into new export markets.”
