Messe Muenchen India Acquires India International Cargo Show, Expands Logistics Trade Fair Portfolio

Messe Muenchen India has acquired the India International Cargo Show (IICS) from Upstream Business Solutions LLP, bringing the four-year-old cargo and freight platform into its wider logistics trade-fair portfolio. The two organisations will collaborate on developing future editions of IICS.

The acquisition brings IICS alongside Messe Muenchen India’s existing logistics platforms, including transport logistic India, air cargo India and the upcoming project cargo India. Together, the events will cover different segments of cargo movement, handling, storage and management across air, sea, rail and road, creating what the company describes as South Asia’s largest logistics trade-fair ecosystem.

IICS has grown into a platform serving freight forwarders, airlines, shipping lines, ports and terminals, warehousing and cold-chain operators, express logistics providers, cargo-handling companies and logistics technology businesses. Its 2025 edition attracted more than 25,000 trade visitors from over 80 countries, with more than 200 exhibiting brands occupying over 15,000 sq m of exhibition space.

Bhupinder Singh, President IMEA, Messe München and CEO, Messe Muenchen India, said the acquisition would allow the company to serve the logistics market through a series of focused yet complementary platforms, while enabling exhibitors, visitors and industry partners to engage with a wider section of the logistics value chain.

The move comes as India’s international merchandise trade continues to expand. According to data cited in the release, merchandise exports reached US$441.78 billion and imports US$774.98 billion in FY 2025–26, taking combined merchandise trade to approximately US$1.22 trillion.

The acquisition will also bring IICS into Messe München’s international transport logistic network, which spans events across China, India, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Türkiye and the United States.

For the immediate future, IICS 2026 will proceed as scheduled from December 2–4, 2026, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. Dates for the 2027 edition will be announced separately.
