Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced plans to establish a dedicated logistics hub in Dhule, aiming to drive industrial growth and enhance urban infrastructure in the region. The announcement was made during a high-level meeting held at the state assembly complex in Mumbai, focused on developmental priorities for the Dhule City Assembly Constituency.
Highlighting Dhule’s strategic location and rising population, the Chief Minister instructed officials to evaluate the proposed logistics hub’s technical, financial, and operational feasibility. He emphasized that any further action should be based on expert assessments.
As part of a broader set of directives, CM Fadnavis called for the development of robust infrastructure to meet the city’s industrial and civic needs. This includes initiating detailed feasibility studies to provide adequate facilities for businesses. He also stressed the importance of coordinated efforts with the disaster management department to mitigate seasonal flooding, especially in vulnerable areas like Devpur and Valwadi.
To curb the municipal corporation’s annual electricity expenditure of approximately Rs 32–33 crore on water supply and street lighting, the Chief Minister pushed for the accelerated implementation of solar power projects with battery storage. He further approved the extension of ductile iron pipeline networks and funding for underground sewage systems to strengthen basic civic infrastructure.
With Dhule’s urban area now expanded to 101.08 square kilometers, Fadnavis recommended that the city be included in the Nagarothan Scheme to unlock additional funding for essential services.
In addition to these infrastructure plans, the Chief Minister proposed the development of a shopping centre along Chalisgaon Road on MHADA land and the construction of a working women’s hostel in Mouje Dhule.
State ministers Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Ganesh Naik, MLA Anup Agarwal, and senior government officials from multiple departments were also present at the meeting.
