Madhya Pradesh govt eyes deal with Reliance for a global logistics hub

The Kamal Nath led Madhya Pradesh government is eyeing huge investment in logistics infrastructure under its plans to revamp investment and industries in the state.

Chief Minister of MP Mr Kamal Nath met the chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai to explore the investment opportunities. A senior MP government official said the meeting was fruitful as Ambani has expressed intentions in lines with the MP government to develop a global logistics hub in Madhya Pradesh.

E-commerce giants like Amazon and Walmart have their own logistics hubs in big cities. It is said that Reliance is interested to establish ‘Reliance Global Logistics Hub’ in Madhya Pradesh on the lines of its existing facilities in Mumbai and Bangalore.

Madhya Pradesh government is set to organise Investor’s Meet in the month of October. Utilising his old expertise, Nath is leading the industry matters himself, keeping the bureaucracy a step behind.

After his scheduled meeting with Ambani on Wednesday, the Chief Minister will meet several eminent industrialists on Thursday.

An official release said Nath exhorted for optimum utilisation of Madhya Pradesh’s investment possibilities. MP is the future destination of horticulture, food processing, data processing and energy storage.

Citing the high data usage in Madhya Pradesh than that of South Korea and Britain, Ambani agreed with data processing possibilities in Madhya Pradesh, the release said.
