Kuehne+Nagel Opens New Tech Centre in Chennai to Strengthen Digital Logistics Capabilities

Kuehne+Nagel has inaugurated a new Tech Centre in Chennai, India, expanding its global engineering footprint and strengthening its ability to develop and scale proprietary digital logistics solutions.

As technology plays an increasingly important role in planning and managing global supply chains, demand for solutions that improve visibility, speed, resilience and customer experience continues to grow. Kuehne+Nagel said access to highly skilled engineering talent is therefore central to advancing its technology strategy.

India’s strong pool of engineering and digital talent has made it a key location for the company’s technology investments. Chennai was selected for its established business ecosystem and experience in supporting global operations. The new facility adds to Kuehne+Nagel’s existing technology centres worldwide.

By early 2027, around 250 technology professionals in Chennai are expected to contribute to the development and enhancement of global products, including SALOG, Kuehne+Nagel’s core digital forwarding platform for managing sea and air freight shipments worldwide. To support the centre’s launch and workforce expansion, Kuehne+Nagel is working with Accenture.

Christina Raab, Market Unit Lead Central and Eastern Europe at Accenture, said the new Tech Centre reflects the strength of the companies’ strategic partnership. She added that combining technology and operational capabilities with local talent would help establish a strong foundation for the centre’s growth and support Kuehne+Nagel’s future expansion.

Marcus Claesson, Chief Information Officer at Kuehne+Nagel, said technology and digital capabilities have become key differentiators in logistics. He added that developing core platforms in-house enables the company to accelerate innovation, scale globally and continuously enhance the customer experience.

The Chennai Tech Centre is expected to further strengthen Kuehne+Nagel’s engineering capabilities and support the development of its next generation of digital logistics solutions.
