In a move set to strengthen India’s logistics and e-commerce landscape, the Department of Posts (DoP) under the Ministry of Communications has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DTDC Express Limited. The agreement was signed in New Delhi by Neeraj Kumar Jha, General Manager of the Parcel Directorate at DoP, and Abhishek Chakraborty, Chief Executive Officer of DTDC, in the presence of senior officials from both sides.
The partnership builds on an ongoing collaboration that began in 2025 and seeks to combine DoP’s expansive nationwide network with DTDC’s operational expertise to enhance parcel delivery services across the country.

At its core, the MoU focuses on expanding logistics and business opportunities by enabling DTDC to leverage DoP’s extensive postal infrastructure for nationwide deliveries, including Cash on Delivery (COD) services. The agreement also emphasizes closer coordination through joint logistics operations, capacity sharing, adoption of industry best practices, and aligned marketing efforts to improve efficiency and service quality. Progress will be monitored through quarterly review meetings to ensure seamless integration and identify new growth avenues.
For DTDC, the collaboration opens access to DoP’s vast network of over 1.64 lakh post offices, allowing it to deepen reach, improve delivery timelines, and better serve demand in remote and underserved regions.
For the Department of Posts, the tie-up is expected to boost its parcel business by enabling faster and more efficient delivery services while expanding its operational footprint. The collaboration also reinforces DoP’s role in supporting India’s ambitions of emerging as a global logistics hub.
