This year, the industry anticipates a sales growth of over 20%, primarily driven by the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) segment’s impressive 40% quarter-on-quarter surge.

If we journey back to the inaugural e-commerce festive sales of 2014, the industry’s Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) was a modest INR 27,000 Crores. Now, as we fast forward to 2023, the GMV is poised to achieve an impressive INR 5,25,000 Crores, signifying an almost 20-fold increase. This remarkable transformation is indicative of a broader trend where the number of annual transacting users has surged 15-fold during this decade-long journey.

Nonetheless, a fundamental question persists which is ‘In what ways are startups redefining supply chain solutions to address the escalating demand during this festive season?’ Below, is an outline of several factors that contribute to enhancing supply chain performance during this period.
