Haryana to come up with 3 MMLPs under the Bharatmala Pariyojana project

The Haryana Government, looking to enhance the logistics infrastructure, is in the process of identifying two land parcels in the Palwal district and one in the Ambala district to set up three multi-modal logistics parks (MMLPs) on public-private partnership (PPP) model under the national corridors’ efficiency improvement component of Bharatmala Pariyojana Highways projects, officials said on Wednesday.

“This initiative will significantly enhance the logistics capabilities of the state, driving economic growth and attracting investments. The government is establishing a robust infrastructure network to support the logistics industry,”

Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal who chaired a meeting of officials on the status of the project.

He also directed officers to expedite the process while engaging in discussions with Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) to finalise the project.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways with an aim to reduce the logistics cost has identified 35 locations across India for the development of MMLPs and the National Highway Logistics Management Limited (NHLML), a special purpose vehicle of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), has been entrusted to develop the parks at the 35 locations, including three in Haryana.

“The primary objective of these MMLPs is to facilitate seamless intermodal freight movement by integrating various modes of transportation. They will serve as hubs for freight aggregation and distribution, enabling efficient movement of goods across the country. The MMLPs will offer state-of-the-art storage and warehousing solutions, along with value-added services such as custom clearances and IT services, to cater to the diverse needs of logistics stakeholders,” Kaushal said.
