The Gujarat government has rolled out its State Integrated Logistics Master Plan (ILMP) along with tailored City Logistics Plans (CLPs) for Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar and Junagadh. Unveiled at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conclave in Rajkot, this long-term strategy includes a project pipeline worth over ₹1.80 lakh crore, spanning through 2047.
The master plan sets out a multimodal framework to strengthen logistics across road, rail, air and sea. It aims to cut transportation costs, boost supply chain efficiency and support the state’s growing industrial and export sectors, aligning with national logistics reforms and the PM Gati Shakti initiative.
At the city level, the new logistics plans are designed to tackle key urban freight challenges. These include reducing congestion, improving last-mile connectivity and promoting sustainable, low-emission freight movement within municipal areas.
Key focus areas in the strategy include developing logistics parks and multimodal hubs, enhancing port and industrial corridor connectivity, and integrating digital planning tools. Officials say this will make Gujarat more attractive to investors, particularly in manufacturing, MSMEs, exports and e-commerce.
Overall, the initiative aims to create a future-ready logistics ecosystem that supports economic growth, job creation and smoother movement of goods across the state.
