GSV’s Partnerships with Nokia, Plasser India, and Jacobs Focus on Career-Ready Skills

Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) has signed three pivotal Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Nokia, Plasser India, and Jacobs, poised to unlock a wealth of opportunities for students and professionals. These collaborations, formalized at Rail Bhawan, aim to bridge the gap between industry and academia, significantly enhancing career prospects and skill development.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the first Chancellor of GSV, highlighted the transformative potential of these partnerships, stating, “I am glad that GSV is emerging as an institution on par with IITs in the country in such a short time. These MoUs mark an important milestone. Our approach focuses on intense industry-academia partnerships, enabling students to be job-ready by their final year at GSV.”

The first MoU between GSV Vice-Chancellor Prof. Manoj Choudhary and Nokia’s President of Cloud and Network Services, Raghav Sahgal, will drive innovation in 5G/6G communications across air, land, and sea transportation. This collaboration offers students cutting-edge research opportunities and potential career paths in next-generation communication technologies.

The second MoU, signed by Prof. Choudhary and Siegfried Fink, Managing Director of Plasser India, aims to advance track technology and provide hands-on industry experience and training. This partnership will facilitate joint research in the transportation and rail sectors, offering internships and placements for GSV students, thereby ensuring they gain practical industry skills alongside academic knowledge.

The third MoU, inked between Prof. Choudhary and Anil Relan, Vice President and Whole-time Director of Jacobs, focuses on enhancing research, teaching, and training in transport, rail, and semiconductor sectors. This agreement will establish centers of excellence in semiconductors, electronics manufacturing, and railways, complete with state-of-the-art laboratories.

These collaborations are expected to create significant employment opportunities in the transportation, logistics, telecommunications, and semiconductor manufacturing sectors. GSV’s strategic alliances with leading global and national institutions such as AIRBUS, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Nippon Koei, Siemens DPIIT, and others demonstrate its commitment to fostering innovation and producing top-tier talent.

GSV has also partnered with prestigious institutions like IIM Mumbai, BITS Pilani, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Jodhpur, NITTTR Bhopal, PGUPS Moscow, and Indian Maritime University to provide robust academic support.

Established by an Act of Parliament in 2022, GSV is dedicated to developing the best talent for the transportation and logistics sectors, ensuring students are well-prepared to meet the evolving demands of the industry and contribute to India’s growth in these critical fields.
