With a view to appreciate extraordinary measures taken by organisations in the logistics sector to combat the pandemic, the Logistics Division under the Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry yesterday announced the launch of the National Logistics Excellence Awards to recognise notable efforts taken in this direction.
The awards have been announced in partnership with Arthur D. Little as the knowledge Partner along with CII & FICCI and other eminent industry players.
The framework of awards has been finalised in consultation with the logistics associations and forum user industry partners. The awards are in two categories, the first group includes logistics infrastructure/service providers and second one is for various user industries. There was wide scale appreciation from user industries for giving the due recognition to various players involved in the logistics supply chain.
The National Logistics Excellence Awards will work as a platform to recognise and highlight the innovation and transformation happening in the Indian logistics sector. An output of this effort will be a repository of case studies that will be a compilation of the best practices to be referred to and followed by the industry veterans.
The awards will underline the best practices including consolidation, process standardisation, technological upgrade, digital transformations, and sustainable practices taken in the pandemic.
“Through these awards we aim to turn the spotlight on logistics service providers who have attained operational excellence, adopted digitisation and technology, improved customer service and pursued sustainable practices, among other achievements”.
~Pawan Agarwal, Special Secretary, Logistics Division.
He further added that “For user industries, the awards will showcase efforts towards supply chain transformation, supplier ecosystem development, skill development, automation, and other similar endeavours”.
