GMR Hyderabad International Airport has strengthened its international cargo network with the launch of Emirates SkyCargo’s dedicated Boeing 777 Freighter service on the Taipei–Hyderabad–Dubai route. The new service is expected to enhance trade connectivity between East Asia, India and the Middle East while reinforcing Hyderabad’s position as one of the country’s leading air cargo gateways.
The Boeing 777F, capable of carrying more than 100 tonnes of cargo on long-haul routes, will support the movement of high-value and time-sensitive shipments, including pharmaceuticals, life sciences products, semiconductors, electronics, perishables and express cargo. The corridor also facilitates the transportation of servers and other technology equipment between key manufacturing and technology hubs.

The new route directly links Taipei’s electronics and semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem with Hyderabad’s globally recognised pharmaceutical, life sciences and emerging technology industries. Through Dubai, the service also provides onwards connectivity to more than 145 global destinations.
The service further strengthens Hyderabad Airport’s cargo capabilities, supported by specialised pharmaceutical handling facilities, advanced cold-chain infrastructure and multimodal connectivity. The airport handles a diverse mix of cargo, including pharmaceuticals, perishables, electronics, technology products and express shipments, backed by an integrated ecosystem of airlines, freight forwarders, logistics partners and regulatory agencies.
Hyderabad Airport also offers an end-to-end temperature-controlled logistics chain for pharmaceutical and life sciences cargo, ensuring product integrity from terminal to aircraft. Its cargo ecosystem is supported by AI-enabled perimeter protection, advanced surveillance systems and dedicated storage facilities for high-value cargo, making it well-equipped to handle semiconductors, aerospace components, servers and other critical shipments.
To improve customer experience and operational efficiency, the airport has introduced several digital initiatives, including real-time shipment tracking through a WhatsApp chatbot, RFID-enabled cargo tracking and 24×7 temperature monitoring across its dedicated Pharma Zone. Automated storage systems and validated temperature telemetry further help reduce dwell times while improving shipment visibility and cargo integrity.
The Emirates SkyCargo service complements Hyderabad Airport’s existing portfolio of long-haul freighter operations by Lufthansa Cargo, Turkish Cargo, Qatar Cargo and Ethiopian Cargo, providing direct connectivity to major global cargo hubs such as Frankfurt, Istanbul, Doha and Addis Ababa.
With continued investments in infrastructure, technology and connectivity, Hyderabad Airport is expanding its cargo ecosystem to support evolving trade flows and resilient supply chains.
