GMR Hyderabad International Airport yesterday announced the launch of a unique Multi ULD Cool Dolly to maintain the unbroken cold chain for Time and Temperature Sensitive (TSS) shipments such as pharmaceuticals and perishables.
The Multi ULD Cool Dolly at Hyderabad Air Cargo was virtually launched on Tuesday by Ms. Vandana Aggarwal (IES), Senior Economic Advisor, Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) during the third Webinar on “Air Cargo-Changing Dimensions” organized by GMR Group as part of its ongoing webinar series on ‘Reposing the faith in flying’.
The other speakers on the panel were: Mr. Pradeep Panicker, CEO, GHIAL; Ms. Tulsi Mirchandaney, Managing Director, Blue Dart Aviation; Mr. Keku Gazder, CEO, AAI Cargo Logistics and Allied Services (AAICLAS); and Mr. Satish Lakkaraju, CCO, Agility Logistics. Many professionals from the cargo industry fraternity participated in this webinar.
The Multi ULD Cool Dolly, comprising of a steel trailer and an aluminium insulated container, now enables Hyderabad International Airport to serve its customers with a seamless and controlled environment at the airport for handling their critical and highly temperature-sensitive commodities. The Cool Dolly acts as a mobile storage unit from Air Cargo Terminal to the aircraft and provide an unbroken cold chain to all the perishable shipments of temperatures of +2⁰C to +8⁰C and +15⁰C to +25⁰C and can handle around 7-tons of cargo in a single trip.

The Cool Dolly is designed to eliminate operational challenges and reduce the time taken in handling, and accommodate various configurations of ULD loading and does not have any restrictions to cater all kinds of aircraft – Narrow or Widebody aircraft (Passenger belly or Freighter aircraft).
Further, it has features like dual-side opening for effortless loading and unloading of ULDs, Flexible Locking System to safeguard the cargo pallets positioned during the movement, non-slip flooring and excellent heat insulation.
Also, the new unique multi ULD Cool Dolly is equipped with a data logger for efficient temperature management, enhanced cargo protection and to monitor the temperature reading during live operation.
