Gati launches tech-enabled surface transshipment centres (STC) in Maharashtra and Assam

Gati Ltd.-an Allcargo Group company has launched state-of-the-art and tech-enabled surface transshipment centres (STC) in Nagpur (Maharashtra) and Guwahati (Assam).

The launch of these transhipment centres in Nagpur and Guwahati STCs are in line with Gati’s plan to set up 12 modern, automated and environmentally friendly STC. Gati aiming to further strengthen its supply chain and warehousing competencies and network has plans to launch more STCs in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

Strategically located at Nagpur-Amravati Road, the Nagpur STC is spread over a 50,000 sq. ft. area and has the capacity to efficiently manage short-haul deliveries in west India and long-haul deliveries across the country. The STC, equipped with advanced technologies will offers its customers optimized supply chains, reduced dwell times and on-time deliveries.

The Nagpur STC which is designed in compliance with green norms, is equipped with built-to-suit technology-enabled warehouses of global standards, shop floor automation, an advanced Warehouse Management System, world-class material handling facilities, integrated warehousing and distribution mechanisms and superior safety features.

The facility has adequate docks to turn around over 100 trucks a day and has a throughput capacity of over 1800 tonnes per day. The Nagpur STC with customised solutions will cater to multiple industries including automotive, electrical equipment, apparel, heavy engineering, pharmaceutical, etc. The facility adheres to the highest levels of performance and precision for sorting and loading and unloading cargo.

The Nagpur STC is centrally located with congestion-free access to Nagpur-Amravati Highway, other key arterial highways and seamless connectivity into the hinterlands, and have establishments of major corporates located within the periphery of 10 km.

Nagpur is located at the geographical centre-point of the nation and has emerged as a busy logistics hub in India. The combined advantage of its geographic location, infrastructural development and growth of digital infrastructure offers the city an unmatched strategic edge in the logistics map of the country.

The Guwahati STC spread across 40,000 sq. ft. is strategically located at Gauripur industrial corridor. Connected to the other parts of the country through National Highway, the STC gets congestion-free access through the arterial roads. 

The Guwahati STC is equipped with modern infrastructure, enhanced warehousing capacity and 400 tonne of throughput capacity per day. The STC builds superior cargo delivery efficiency for its clients to seven sisters of India – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura.

The two STC’s offer tech-enabled and customised logistics solutions to SMEs so that they can build a widespread distribution network across the country.
