Flipkart Appoints Vinay Vaidya as SVP to Lead Supply Chain Technology and AI Initiatives

Walmart-owned Flipkart has appointed Vinay Vaidya as Senior Vice President, Technology for Supply Chain, as the company sharpens its focus on building a more agile and tech-driven logistics backbone.

In this role, Vaidya will lead technology and platform development across key areas including fulfilment services, seller experience, trust and safety, and marketplace operations. He will also drive initiatives around logistics innovation and AI-led capabilities.

Vaidya joins Flipkart from Tata Digital, where he served as Chief Technology Officer, leading technology strategy and platform modernisation. Before that, he spent close to 18 years at Amazon, where he worked across marketplace systems, seller ecosystem, payments, search and browse, and India operations.

The appointment is part of Flipkart’s broader push to deepen its technology and AI capabilities. Earlier this year, the company strengthened its leadership bench with several senior hires across data science, fintech, engineering, and platform architecture.

Flipkart’s ongoing leadership expansion aligns with its preparation for a planned public listing and a sharper focus on AI-led commerce, supply chain efficiency, and marketplace growth.

The company has also recently shifted its domicile from Singapore to India and continues to invest across ecommerce, quick commerce, fintech, travel, and fashion through its portfolio, including Myntra, Cleartrip, and super.money.
