FIEO hosts the 17th edition of ‘Niryat Shree & Niryat Bandhu’ Awards in New Delhi

The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) on Wednesday hosted the 17th edition of FIEO’s ‘Niryat Shree & Niryat Bandhu’ Awards in New Delhi. Instituted in 1995-1996, the two prestigious awards, ‘Niryat Shree & Niryat Bandhu’ recognize the contributions of exporters and other agencies engaged in export promotion. ‘Niryat Shree’ is awarded to member exporters for achieving outstanding performance in export of goods and services, while ‘Niryat Bandhu’ recognizes organizations that help exporters in achieving higher growth, such as banks and other financial institutions.

The event was graced by the presence of the Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal who, while addressing the exporter fraternity, said that times ahead are going to be tough and challenging and exporters should show their capabilities in such situations to increase shipments.

Although the Indian exports have reached an all-time high of USD 773 billion in 2022-23, the times ahead are going to be very tough, the minister said highlighting the deteriorating situation in Ukraine-Russia war.

“It’s going to be very, very challenging in the months and years ahead of us. But tough times is the time when people with mettle show their capabilities,” he added

Indian exporters has shown resilience during the global economic uncertainties, and taken Indian exports of goods and services to USD 773 billion.

Encouraging the exporter fraternity of India, Goyal called upon the industry to work together to ensure that we don’t get left behind, to ensure that we will show the pathway to the rest of the world and towards trading beyond boundaries, trading to newer markets, and trading in newer products produced in India for the world.

He said, serving from India to the world economies, to developed economies, exploring new markets, and new opportunities, diversifying our export basket, encouraging collaborations and investment both into the country and internationally, and becoming globally more competitive will be the drivers of our export and future international engagements. We have to ensure that the world recognizes brand India for quality and reliability.

Further Goyal expressed his confidence in Indian exports and said that exports will reach USD 2 trillion by 2030. Goyal awarded the excellent export performance of outstanding exporters and service providers by Niryat Shree and Niryat Bandhu Awards.

FIEO President, Dr. A Sakthivel, expressing his gratitude to the Union Minister and thanking his exporter friends, highlighted that the exports sectors saw a remarkable growth of over 55 per cent in 2 years, taking aggregate exports to USD 770 billion in 2022-23 and adding US$ 218 billion in the last two financial years, equivalent to more than INR 17 lakh crores.

He congratulated all the awardees for their remarkable efforts shown during the turbulent period in global trade. He said, the exporters of India have made the country proud through the sheer dint of their hard work amid meticulous planning.

The evening ended with cocktails and dinner arranged for the fraternity and supporting agencies by FIEO
