In a move aimed at strengthening India’s logistics ecosystem and supporting export growth, a delegation from the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), led by Dr Ajay Sahai, Director General and CEO, met Sanjay Swarup, Chairman and Managing Director of Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR), to discuss key aspects of multimodal logistics services.
The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration between CONCOR and the export community, with discussions centred on improving logistics efficiency, strengthening supply chain connectivity, reducing transit time, and delivering seamless end-to-end transportation solutions for exporters.
During the interaction, Swarup highlighted several customer-centric initiatives undertaken by CONCOR to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery. These include the expansion of multimodal logistics infrastructure, digitalisation of customer services, improved rail-road connectivity, upgraded terminal operations, stronger first- and last-mile connectivity, and the introduction of customised logistics solutions tailored to the evolving needs of India’s EXIM trade.
The importance of integrated logistics in reducing overall logistics costs and boosting the global competitiveness of Indian exports also featured prominently in the discussions. Members of the FIEO delegation shared feedback from exporters and explored opportunities to further strengthen collaboration, particularly in facilitating faster cargo movement, improving container availability, and expanding multimodal logistics networks.
Senior CONCOR officials, including the Director (Projects & Services) and Director (International Marketing & Operations), along with other representatives, participated in the meeting and exchanged views with the FIEO delegation on enhancing customer experience and expanding logistics support for exporters.
The meeting reaffirmed CONCOR’s commitment to working closely with industry stakeholders and export promotion bodies to build a more efficient, reliable, and technology-driven logistics ecosystem. This aligns with the Government of India’s broader vision of improving ease of doing business and enhancing the country’s global trade competitiveness.
With India’s exports on an upward trajectory and increasing focus on multimodal connectivity under initiatives such as PM Gati Shakti and the National Logistics Policy, deeper engagement between logistics service providers and exporters is expected to play a critical role in building a resilient and globally competitive supply chain.
