With the growing demand for air travel, especially in Indian skies and to ride the strong tailwinds and pave the way forward for the sector, Kuehne + Nagel India hosted its 2nd Aerospace and Defence Summit in Gurgaon on 8th November.
The summit was formally inaugurated by Vandana Aggarwal, Economic Advisor, Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA); Erik Goedhart, SVP and Global Head of Aerospace and Industrials, Kuehne + Nagel Management AG and Peer Rasmussen, Managing Director, Kuehne + Nagel India by the lighting of lamp.
Ms Aggarwal in her keynote address, said, “We have added 42 operational airports in the last couple of years which show our commitment towards bringing growth in the aviation sector. I invite Kuehne + Nagel to partner with the government for fulfilling the MRO needs of aircraft in India.”
Mr Erik Goedhart, said, “Changes will happen because passengers will determine what needs to be done. Our path with aerospace and defence in India is of investing, supporting and performing with innovative solutions. We are an earlier adopter to be a catalyst, enabler and accelerator of changes needed. Now, we are different from ‘just a logistic company’.”

A diverse and dynamic group of speakers and panellists provided in-depth insight, as well as, actionable and practical tools of engagement models, methods and mechanisms (3Ms) that have worked in other countries. We were able to share how it could be utilized to aid the on-going development efforts in the sector.
Aviation fraternity echoed and appreciated energetic closing remark given by Amber Dubey, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation. Mr Dubey said, “If we can’t create a world-class supply chain ecosystem for Aviation and MROs now, we may never be able to do it”
The primary goal of the summit was to bring together Indian Aerospace, Aviation and MRO leaders and Supply Chain professionals on the same platform to discuss the Indian industry issues. The summit aimed to develop a strong supply chain backbone for this fast-growing sector.
