The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has opened the invitations for applications to the Logistics Excellence, Advancement and Performance Shield (LEAPS) initiative until 15th April 2023. The LEAPS initiative works towards showcasing and promoting best practices in the Indian logistics and supply chain sector, and will celebrate the collective vision of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan and the National Logistics Policy.
The interested applicants can apply to LEAPS categories including core logistics, startups, MSMEs, institutions and special category, with a limit of 2 categories per application. It should be noted that startups and MSMEs are allowed to participate in core logistics and special category too.
Applicants reaching the final stage may be subject to legal verification by third party evaluators. If the applicant refuses such verification, the DPIIT will hold the right to consider/select the next in line applicant for the award.
The LEAPS initiative was launched in 2020 as a part of India’s National Action Plan for Climate Change (NAPCC) and aims to promote sustainable development by accelerating the adoption of clean energy technologies in India. It focuses on four main areas – clean energy, energy efficiency, electric mobility, and alternative fuels – and is a significant step towards achieving India’s target of generating 40% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030.
The initiative aims to foster innovation, facilitate the development of new technologies, and provide support to entrepreneurs and startups working in these areas. It also seeks to create awareness among stakeholders and promote collaborations between government, industry, and academia.
