Spl Secretary Logistics encourages social sector departments to leverage Gati Shakti NMP

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), MoCI organised a progress review meeting to access the status of how the social sector ministries/departments have adopted the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (NMP). The meeting was chaired by recently appointed Special Secretary (Logistics) Ms. Sumita Dawra. The meeting was attended by 35 senior officials from 14 ministries and departments.

Dawra stressed on how the National Master Plan can be adopted by the Ministries/Departments to enhance the planning, implementation as well as monitoring of infrastructure and social sector projects and schemes. Use cases of adoption of PM Gati Shakti in Uttar Pradesh for integration of Pahunch portal for the planning of schools with the NMP platform, optimisation of planning of Anganwadi in Gujarat, 5G planning tool, and street furniture planning in Chandigarh were mentioned as case studies and best practices from States.

“A need was felt for social sector ministries/departments to adopt PM Gati Shakti NMP for the utilization of their assets, and holistic development across the country,” as per the press release.

Two new ministries, viz, Ministry of Ayush and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship have adopted PM GatiShakti NMP.

Imaginative and innovative use of the NMP platform for greater accessibility and last-mile connectivity to healthcare centers, hospitals, schools, and Anganwadi were mentioned to enhance public welfare.
