The much awaited Cold Chain Unbroken (CCUB) 2022 event has flagged off in Hyderabad, Telangana on 15th September. The two day event is the brain-child of Wiz Freight, and presented by Logistics Insider, it will act as a portal for the industry to witness some of the best possible discussions around the cold chain. Shri. Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary Industries & Commerce, and Information Technology, Government of Telangana joined as the Guest of Honour at the event.

The event was inaugurated by Sh. Jayesh Ranjan, in the presence of Mr. Satish Lakkaraju (Global Head, Airfreight and Pharma, Wiz Freight), along with Mr. Ramkumar Govindarajan (Founder & CEO, Wiz Freight), Mr. Ramkumar Ramchandran (Co-Founder & Chairman, Wiz Freight), Mr. Julian Sutch (Head of Global Sales – Pharma, Emirates SkyCargo), Mr. Marrie Groeneveld (Advisor to The Board, SkyCell AG) and Mr. Anil Agarwal (President, FTCCI).
The event also witnessed the unveiling a special report on ‘Infrastructure Augmentation for Pharma and Perishable Handling at Indian Air Cargo Terminals‘. The report focuses on the initiatives of few of the top airports across the country for ensuring an unbroken cold chain for pharma and perishables.
Sh. Jayesh Ranjan, while addressing the participants, stressed on the importance of an efficient cold chain which was witnessed during the pandemic as millions of vaccines were to be transported around the world. He also said that Telangana is the hub of manufacturing life-sciences and biotechnology products in India, and Hyderabad produces roughly 9 billion vaccines – nearly 1/3rd of the global production.
“This is the best time to re-group, understand the advancements taking place on the technology frontier as well as the last mile delivery frontier; how policies need to be formulated and how industry needs to be supported. It gladens my heart that the industry is taking an ecosystem approach to the event, because eventually in Telangana, it has become a part of our DNA to bring all partners on-board, sharing responsibilities and leadership.”

Starting on this note, the interactive sessions of the event initiated with discussing Telangana emerging as the pharma hub of Asia, followed by sessions on how technology is driving the disruptive changes in pharma supply chains, latest legislation on dangerous goods, perishables and regulatory framework, cold chain for agricultural products, packaging in cold chains, and the challenges of pharma supply chain.
The event is expected to witness active participation of the industry leaders, bureaucrats, and big companies like GMR Cargo, PharmaAero, SkyCell, Turkish Cargo, DFW Airport etc. coming together to make this a super successful extravaganza.
