In a landmark international foray, Indian food supply chain major Food Service Network (FSN) has entered the Indonesian market through a strategic partnership with Restaurant Brands Asia (RBA), the master franchisee for Burger King and Popeyes in the region.
With this move, FSN has become the first Indian food supply company to establish on-ground international operations, a milestone that not only deepens its decade-long association with RBA but also underscores the growing global ambitions of Indian logistics and cold chain enterprises.
Under the partnership, FSN will manage distribution and backend operations for nearly 170 Burger King and Popeyes outlets across Indonesia. The company has already set up six distribution centres to service this network, replicating its successful centralised model from India that relies heavily on integrated tech platforms and a strong vendor base.
Speaking on the development, Sandeep Dey, President at RBA Indonesia (Burger King & Popeyes), said, “Our relationship with FSN spans over a decade in India, where we have grown together as trusted partners. Their entry into Indonesia is a natural extension of that trust. FSN’s deep focus on supply chain innovation and operational precision makes them a perfect fit for our fast-growing footprint here.”
FSN’s technology stack, which includes SAP ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Transport Management Systems (TMS), will be deployed in Indonesia to ensure real-time visibility, data-driven decisions, and consistent quality. The company will work closely with over 30 local suppliers while exploring selective imports from India to optimize sourcing.
“Indonesia marks a strategic leap in our vision of building Southeast Asia’s most advanced foodservice network,” said Gaurav Jain, Chairman at FSN. “We are bringing our proven capabilities, from AI-powered demand planning to temperature-controlled logistics, into a market ripe with opportunity.”
Founded as a tech-first cold chain logistics firm, FSN has built a formidable presence across 280+ cities in India, managing over 400 temperature-controlled vehicles and servicing more than 5,000 outlets. Its clientele includes major QSRs and FMCG players such as KFC, Pizza Hut, McDonald’s, PepsiCo, Rebel Foods, and Amazon Fresh.
By launching operations in Indonesia, FSN has signaled its intent to become a regional supply chain powerhouse, leveraging India’s strengths in tech and execution to serve high-growth foodservice markets in Southeast Asia.
