Keeping their eyes on the prize and participating in the Prime Minister’s Gati Shakti initiative, AVG Logistics has recently expanded its existing rail freight segment – running on various routes throughout the country – and has transformed into a multi-modal, end-to-end logistics services provider.
We have introduced rail services for express, FMCG, automotive, e-com and other industries on all major routes ex north to east , west to east, north to south & return. We have become a true multimodal logistics company, catering to all major industries for end to end solutions via road, rail, coastal, air and cold chain solutions.”
~ Vinayak Gupta, Vice-President, AVG Logistics
Maintaining the growth and pace of other existing modes of transportation, the leading homegrown logistics company has ventured into rail logistics with the aim to boost parcel business and give hastened yet safer and affordable services to their new as well as existing customers. Another factor considered for the crucial diversification of their service portfolio was the increasingly volatile fuel prices and their burgeoning effect on the operational costs for their customers.

Their rail logistics services will cover primary locations on the Delhi-Bangalore-Delhi, Goa-Guwahati, Delhi-Goa-Delhi and Goa-Patna-Goa railway routes. In the past decade, the Ministry of Railways has been making some notable efforts into the promotion of railways for the transportation of cargo and have lauded AVG for their innovative approach in rail logistics, especially in the movement of medical essentials during the early pandemic days. Their trains will run on Van Parcel, Long Term Leasing as well as On-Demand models, and will also be fitted with temperature control equipment for cold-chain cargo.
Just a couple of months ago, nearly 163 tons of chocolates were stacked into 18 air-conditioned coaches and transported from Vasco Da Gama (Goa) to Okhla (Delhi) and AVG was in charge of this shipment.
Apart from express delivery of cargo, AVG also entails safe cargo shipment & delivery, and scheduled movement of cargo in the list of benefits when one opts for their rail freight services. Lesser carbon emissions in comparison to road transport is another factor that AVG seems to have considered among others, which also is an add-on when it comes to sustainable supply chain operations.
“We have leased trains from the railways for different routes on a long term basis to cater & offer best in class affordable and safer mode of transportation with less carbon footprint than the road”, adds Mr. Gupta.
AVG Logistics works on the idea of determining the most efficient methods of delivering products safely by mitigating the risk of damages and delays. They are into multi-modal transportation (door-to-door, reverse logistics, cross-border transportation, cold-chain etc.), warehousing services (manpower handling, multi-user warehouse facility, bonded warehouses, storage space) and other value-added services – all backed by stalwart application of technology throughout operations.
