Adani Ports witnessed 33% Spike in February Cargo Handling

Adani Ports on Friday announced the remarkable 33 percent year-on-year surge in cargo volumes recorded in February. The company managed a total cargo handling of 35.4 MMT, marking a substantial 33 percent increase compared to the same period last year. While various ports experienced a notable uptick in volumes, Dhamra Port achieved its highest-ever monthly cargo figure at 4.22 MMT.

In the 11 months concluding in February 2024, Adani Ports handled a total of 382 MMT of cargo, signaling a trajectory that positions it well to surpass the 400 MMT mark before the fiscal year concludes in March. The company proudly announced its accomplishment of surpassing the 350 MMT cargo volume mark at its domestic ports within 318 days.

The logistics arm of the firm also experienced robust growth, with year-to-date rail volumes witnessing a 21 percent year-on-year increase at 542,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit). Additionally, the General Purpose Wagon Investment Scheme volumes surged by an impressive 40 percent on a yearly basis, reflecting the company’s consistent upward trajectory.
